NEW YORK (August 19, 2015) – Tesla Motors tops Forbes’ fifth annual list of The World’s Most Innovative Companies (p.104) in the Forbes September 7th magazine issue, bumping Salesforce.com to the No. 2 spot for the first time in five years.The list includes firms that investors feel are most likely to come up with the next big innovation. Alexion Pharmaceuticals follows at No. 3 for the fourth consecutive year. Rounding out the top five are Regeneron Pharmaceuticalsat No. 4 and ARM Holdings at No. 5. The rankings are based on analysis from Finstra Consulting in collaboration with Innovators DNA and uses data and a proprietary valuation model from HOLT, a division of Credit Suisse. The method relies on an innovation premium (IP), the difference between a firm’s enterprise value and a net present value of cash flows from its existing businesses.
