Sixteen years into our practice, it is clear that what we thought would be just a way of investing with which we wanted to experiment, has become a global movement, growing in assets under management every year—over $500 billion in 2019 according to the Global Impact Investing Network. During this period, we have seen the long-held biases against introducing social and environmental factors into investment decisions reduce substantially, but we still have a ways to go.
