We took on a virtually impossible task: We compiled a list of the most powerful business people in the Bay Area. You should know these leaders.

Nancy Pfund
Founder and managing partner
DBL Partners

Long recognized as a female pioneer in the investment realm, Nancy Pfund is the founder and managing partner of San Francisco-based DBL Partners. She’s been an early investor in Tesla Motors, SpaceX, SolarCity and Pandora. She’s an outspoken advocate for “impact investing,” using investment to spur social change. Last year Pfund was named the 2022 Financial Woman of the Year by the Financial Women of San Francisco, adding to a host of plaudits for her work in impact investment on behalf of the environment; not many people can claim to have been honored by Forbes and Fortune magazines on one hand and the Earth Day Network on the other. Before DBL, she was managing director in venture capital for JPMorgan and previously worked for Intel, the state of California and Stanford University.
