Meet The Leader Who Is Bringing Direct Sales To The Women’s Shapewear Market

Anna Zornosa is a vet­er­an leader in tech­nol­o­gy, includ­ing com­pa­nies such as Yahoo!, Knight Rid­der Dig­i­tal and Cobalt Group. She’s served as an advi­sor to numer­ous star­tups, includ­ing Trulioo​.com, Glam​.com and Chloe & Isabel. But she’s nev­er donned the offi­cial title of founder.

That is, until now.

Zornosa is founder and CEO of Ruby Rib­bon, an ear­ly stage shapewear com­pa­ny (think com­fort­able camisoles, swim­suits, bras and the like) that is on a mis­sion to dom­i­nate the women’s shapewear mar­ket. Ruby Rib­bon offi­cial­ly launched in 2011, but Zornosa noticed sev­er­al trends among women years before that: they were des­per­ate for more work-life flex­i­bil­i­ty. They were over­worked. And they were dress­ing differently—spandex; yoga pants; unre­strict­ed shirts and sup­port­ive tank tops.
