Farm­ers Busi­ness Net­work is search­ing for the next gen­er­a­tion of lead­ers in agriculture.

Over the course of the next few weeks, we will announce the FBN Schol­ar­ship recip­i­ents from sev­en of the top agri­cul­ture uni­ver­si­ties in the country.

Each FBN Schol­ar will receive a $1,000 schol­ar­ship towards their study in the 2015–2016 aca­d­e­m­ic year.

What are your career aspi­ra­tions after college?

After I fin­ish my under­grad­u­ate degree I hope to be accept­ed into a School of Vet­eri­nary Med­i­cine to be a pre­dom­i­nate­ly large ani­mal vet and even­tu­al­ly open my own mixed ani­mal practice.

If you could change any­thing about the agri­cul­ture indus­try or farm­ing in the Unit­ed States, what would it be?

If I could change any­thing about agri­cul­ture in the US, it would be how con­sumers are giv­en infor­ma­tion about our cur­rent prac­tices. Many peo­ple are con­fused and mis­lead about the things that go into rais­ing live­stock and pro­duc­ing crops, so they think many of the things we use and do are harm­ful to the con­sumer, which is untrue and that mind­set hurts the agri­cul­ture com­mu­ni­ty and makes it hard for farm­ers to do their jobs.
