Mikal Lewis


Mikal Lewis is an Asso­ciate at DBL Part­ners, which he joined in 2021. Pri­or to DBL, Mikal worked as a strate­gic advi­sor and lead­er­ship fel­low to Gov­er­nor Ned Lam­ont of Con­necti­cut. He served in the state’s COVID-19 response and lead ini­tia­tives in ener­gy and eco­nom­ic devel­op­ment. Pre­vi­ous­ly, Mikal worked for Shell Oil Com­pa­ny where he sup­port­ed sev­er­al busi­ness units in cor­po­rate finance, and busi­ness devel­op­ment capac­i­ties to grow Shell’s top-line rev­enue, reduce costs, and stream­line glob­al processes.

Addi­tion­al­ly, Mikal is pas­sion­ate about the wealth gap, and co-found­ed an orga­ni­za­tion called Halo which is designed to low­er bar­ri­ers to both entre­pre­neur­ship, and par­tic­i­pa­tion in pri­vate mar­kets investing.

Mikal received his B.B.A. in finance from Geor­gia South­ern, and his MBA from the Har­vard Busi­ness School. Dur­ing his MBA, Mikal held intern­ships at Ener­gy Impact Part­ners and Fifth Wall Ven­tures. Mikal also held lead­er­ship roles in the HBS African Amer­i­can Stu­dent Union, and (B.I.G.S.) Build­ing Ideas for Gen­er­a­tional Shifts Club.
