Tesla Motors tops Forbes’ fifth annual list of The World’s Most Innovative Companies

NEW YORK (August 19, 2015)Tes­la Motors tops Forbes’ fifth annu­al list of The World’s Most Inno­v­a­tive Com­pa­nies (p.104) in the Forbes Sep­tem­ber 7th mag­a­zine issue, bump­ing Sales​force​.com to the No. 2 spot for the first time in five years.The list includes firms that investors feel are most like­ly to come up with the next big inno­va­tion. Alex­ion Phar­ma­ceu­ti­cals fol­lows at No. 3 for the fourth con­sec­u­tive year. Round­ing out the top five are Regen­eron Phar­ma­ceu­ti­calsat No. 4 and ARM Hold­ings at No. 5. The rank­ings are based on analy­sis from Fin­stra Con­sult­ing in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Inno­va­tors DNA and uses data and a pro­pri­etary val­u­a­tion mod­el from HOLT, a divi­sion of Cred­it Suisse.  The method relies on an inno­va­tion pre­mi­um (IP), the dif­fer­ence between a firm’s enter­prise val­ue and a net present val­ue of cash flows from its exist­ing busi­ness­es.
